Payroll, 1099, health insurance, and reminders for tax filing, as well as tax compliance reminders for filing. I can’t say enough nice things about Gusto. If you are paying contractors or employees, use Gusto. As an example of what they do, in 2022, the laws in California changed, and all employers now have to offer a 401K saving option. Without Gusto, I might have missed this and been docked, and let me tell you, California LOVES to fine small business owners for not being in compliance.
I fought QuickBooks for years because it scared me. When I graduated from college, I used Quicken for everything. I would do my annual tax category reports and I felt terrific about it. Quickbooks in the old world was a software program that you downloaded on your computer. When I first used Quickbooks, I would have my bookkeeper log into my computer remotely to do the finances. I laugh just thinking about it. What a nightmare! Now Quickbooks Online is on a secure browser so that my bookkeeper in Chicago and my CPA in Irvine can see my Profit and Loss Report and everything they need to reconcile or do the taxes.
