For Valentine’s Day, Brace and I went to see the opera Cendrillon — Cinderella — streamed from the Metropolitan Opera in New York to our local movie theater here in Utah.

The costumes were stunning. The singing was incredible. And the sets were unbelievably creative.

The whole production was built around books and literature — layers of stories stacked like towering pages. And at the climax of the show, the fairy godmother appeared, rising on a massive stack of books, probably six feet high, and suddenly everything changed for Cinderella.

Problems solved. Direction restored. Hope returned.

And sitting there watching, I couldn’t help but think about business.

So many entrepreneurs feel like Cinderella before the transformation: working hard… doing everything themselves… carrying the weight of the business alone… quietly hoping something will change.

We’re told to just hustle harder. Sell more. Push through.
