The Profit Letters

When I was growing up, church activities were our entertainment — especially in middle school and high school. And the big event every weekend was a dance.

I grew up in Southern California, in Riverside. My dad was a professor at UCR, so we went wherever the dances were happening — Riverside, Costa Mesa, Corona, Irvine — whatever church gym was hosting that week.

Now here’s the funny part.

My background was ballet. Serious ballet. Nutcracker every year. Pointe shoes. Three to five hours a day in the dance studio.

But ballroom dancing? Not my thing.

I’d taken maybe one short class. I was… fine. Definitely not great.

But whenever my friends and I were at a dance and Craig Boch asked me to dance, something magical happened.

I suddenly looked like a pro.

Not because I was amazing — but because he was an incredible leader.

I didn’t have to think. I didn’t have to anticipate the next move. I just relaxed and followed.

And somehow, he made me look really good.

That memory has been on my mind lately because it’s such a perfect picture of how many entrepreneurs approach business.

We tell ourselves:

  • “I should be able to figure this out on my own.”
  • “If I just work harder, it’ll get better.”
  • “I don’t need help — I just need more time.”

So we struggle quietly. We guess. We react. We try to lead everything without a framework or a guide.

And it’s exhausting.

That’s exactly why Finance MakeOver exists.

You don’t need to do this alone. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. And you don’t need to keep living in the Owner’s Monthly Cash Crisis.

In just a few weeks, we’ll be launching our group coaching program, where we take you by the hand, walk you through our proven financial framework, and help you lead your business with confidence.

The goal isn’t just better numbers. It’s a life of abundance. More time with your family. More peace. Less stress around money.

Sometimes the difference between feeling stuck and feeling confident isn’t effort — it’s having the right leader show you the next step.

More coming very soon.

Profitably Yours,

Karen Lake
