The Profit Letters

This is our first year living in Utah, and on December 27th — the morning we celebrated Christmas with all three of my daughters, my son-in-law, and our three grandchildren — we woke up to a light dusting of snow.

It hasn’t snowed much since we moved here. In fact, this little snow didn’t even stick to the cement — it only covered the grass.

But my son-in-law grew up in Utah, so he knew exactly what to do.He bundled up his daughter, grabbed his son (this photo is of my grandson), and headed outside. Using almost no snow, he rolled it in a zigzag pattern through the grass, building a perfect base… then did it again… and again. You could literally see the path where the snowman was made.

Meanwhile, we Californians were just watching in amazement

My husband contributed by running inside to grab Oreo cookies — his favorite kind with toffee inside — for the snowman’s eyes. And yes… that’s my husband, the love of my life, in flip-flops and shorts. Very Utah. Very dad.

And as I stood there watching, it hit me:

This is exactly how money works.

When your finances are organized, you don’t need more money to feel safe — you just need to know how to use what you already have.

Too many business owners keep everything in one main account and spend from it as life happens. Then an emergency pops up, payroll feels tight, or a surprise expense causes stress.

But when your money is organized — when profit, taxes, owner pay, and expenses each have a place — you’re ready. You can handle life as it comes, even when resources feel thin.

Just like that snowman.

Because James grew up with snow, he knew how to work with what was there. And most entrepreneurs simply haven’t been taught how to organize their money — especially women.

That’s why we’re getting ready to launch something new in January.

A membership designed to coach women entrepreneurs to:
• organize their money
• understand their numbers
• stop relying on hope (or just a bookkeeper)
• and start making confident, strategic decisions

We need more women with more money — because money gives you options, influence, and a louder voice.

If you’d like to be invited to our FREE Business Finance Class for Women happening in January, just reply to this email and let us know.

We’re so excited to bring this to you.

Profitably Yours,

Karen Lake
